CBRNe World Capability Profile: Intelagard

Leading Edge Decontamination Systems and Solutions

As a world leader in decontamination technologies, Intelagard provides systems and solutions that range from the handheld chemical and biological Personal Incident Decontamination System (PIDS) to versatile large scale systems that can be transported on tactical military vehicles.

Deployed in theaters of operation around the world, Intelagard systems are saving lives. If the mission changes from decontamination to fire suppression or hazmat remediation, it takes only minutes to change the formulation in the systems and be operational once more. Intelagard’s commercial off the shelf products are in use in the most austere environments in the world.

Whether the incident is accidental or intentional, Intelagard provides the tools you need for decontamination, hazmat remediation, toxic vapor suppression, fire suppression, and more. The systems are rugged while designed for optimal functionality. Intelagard systems maximize valuable resources, multiplying formulations into as much as a 50:1 ratio of solution to expanded foam.

Intelagard offers a Personal Incident Decontamination System (PIDS) for individuals. This handheld sprayer of EasyDECON DF200 chemical/biological decontamination formulation may be used in mailrooms or for personal protection against chemical/biological incidents, SARS, Avian flu, and more. Typical effective coverage area for the individual PIDS container is approximately 100 square feet. For more coverage, Intelagard’s Macaw backpack unit holds five gallons of the same EasyDECON DF200 solution as in the PIDS, and the Merlin handcart holds 15 gallons.

The Macaw and Merlin are extremely effective tools for interior facility applications, as well as when larger scale decontamination is required, such as decon shelters, vehicles and other small to mid size applications. The Macaw backpack has proven to be a critical tool for rapid fire suppression at US military bases abroad.

The Merlin handcart is in use with US Federal Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) teams due to its ease of use and multi-functionality. Intelagard’s H1 Intercept fits on the back of pick-up trucks or military humvees and may be used for rapid decontamination or fire suppression. The SwiftCAF ATV system takes advantage of the maneuverability of all-terrain vehicles, providing decon, hazmat, and fire suppression capabilities to narrow streets, alleys and other areas inaccessible to larger vehicles.

Large scale systems for fixed site and mass decontamination operations include the Falcon Fixed Site Decontamination System (FSDS) and High Mobility Decontamination System (HMDS). Deployed by the US military, these rugged systems have also been called into use for rapid fire suppression.

When lives depend on you, trust Intelagard systems and solutions for a rapid and effective response.
