The Fifth Annual CBRNe Convergence 2012, 30th October – 2 November, Norfolk Waterside Marriott, Norfolk, Virginia
2010’s CBRNe Convergence was the largest CBRNE responders conference in the US that year. It brought together 650 delegates with 75 exhibitors and culminated in a massive exercise involving units from the FBI, CST and local responders.
2012 will be no different with an expected 1,000 attendees and 100 exhibitors it promises to be the biggest event on the East Coast.
The program will be chosen by the Editorial Team of CBRNe World and will be the largest gathering of significant thought leaders and senior commanders in the US – both from CONUS and beyond.
CBRNe Convergence 2012 has already secured Supporting Partner Organisation from the FBI WMD Directorate, and has Nato’s Allied Command for Transformation has committed to being a major participant in the Conference. The event will span four days:
30th October – Pre-Conference Workshops:
i) Getting the most out of free! A ½ day workshop looking at what free support the CBRN responder can get – whether software or training. The class will be given by the people that have designed the software or devised the course, and they will explain the full functionality and opportunities.
ii) Standardising the perfect response. A ½ day workshop bringing together the major organisations involved in the new White House Directive on CBRN Standards to explain what it means to you! Standards suffer from being nebulous and tedious, this lively workshop will demystify them and explain their value and relevance.

Highlights

Workshops on CBRNe Standards will explain and allow engagement with the many programmes in action, particularly the US National Standards Strategy.
There will also be a workshop on making the best use of free or very cheap software tools, from CHEMM to REMM, Wiser and VTRA.
