Major Erik Aubel
USMC Chemical Biological, Incident Response Force (CIBRF)
Major Erik Aubel is currently serving as the Operations Officer for the USMC Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF). Also, Major Aubel is the Initial Response Force “A” Mission Commander. Erik has served the Department of Defense for over 20 years. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in Computer Science. He has held various positions ranging from Harrier Pilot and Air Operations Officer/Senior Watch Officer for Regimental Combat Team 8 in Iraq to Company Commander and Commanding Officer of the Marine Wing Support Squadron in Afghanistan. Most recently he deployed to the Middle East as Combat Logistics Battalion 24,24th Marine Expeditionary Unit Executive Officer where he planned and developed training evolutions with militaries and governments in Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and the UAE. Additionally, he served as the Deputy Command Inspector General for the 2d Marine Logistics Group in Camp Lejeune,North Carolina.
As a CBIRF Mission Commander Erik has participated in table top and training exercises geared towards defense support of civil authorities in the United States which center on how CBIRF can augment local response agencies with scalable, flexible assets that support the Incident Commander’s overall plan without any added administrative or logistical overhead. CBIRF continues to set the gold standard of CBRNE response in the DoD and knows the only way to maintain this is by engaging with other professionals to raise the collective experience and knowledge in the continuum of incident response.
